Organization Overview
The Mel Jr. & Marty Zajac Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, located in Vancouver, BC, whose mandate is to support children, seniors and those with special needs through innovative community projects focused on developing lifelong skills and independence. Our current major focus is Zajac Ranch, a camp in Mission, BC, for children with chronic, life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions.
Located on the shores of Stave Lake in Mission, BC, just one hour east of Vancouver, Zajac Ranch is situated on over 41 acres of pristine forested land. During the summer months, Zajac Ranch provides camps for children and young adults with chronic, life-threatening and/or debilitating conditions. In the off-season, Zajac Ranch welcomes school groups and private rentals. Revenue raised from site rentals goes to supporting Zajac Ranch medical summer camps.

Compensation: $25 - $30 (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary
The Zajac Ranch Maintenance Worker position reports to the Director, Facilities and is responsible for supporting the maintenance and carpentry needs of Zajac Ranch including buildings, landscaping, yard maintenance, and handy man duties.
Key Responsibilities
· Carpentry
· Building services: repair, maintenance, painting, servicing, etc.
· Handyman services
· General yard maintenance: lawn maintenance, gardening, pruning, moving plants, weeding and watering
· Pressure washing
· Chopping wood
Qualifications & Experience
• 2-5 years maintenance and / or carpentry experience required
• Well organized with excellent multi-tasking and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Able to take direction
• A positive attitude
• Highly adaptable
Health & Safety
· Follow all WorkSafeBC regulations and Ranch safety protocols
· Report hazards immediately
Skills & Competencies
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Time management and organizational skills
· Physical stamina (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)

Physical Requirements

· Seasonal fluctuations and activities in workload
· Must have own reliable transportation
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
