MacKenzie Camp First Aid Attendant

    MacKenzie Camp (on beautiful Mabel Lake, 35 km east of Enderby, BC) seeks a First Aid Attendant for its spring and summer program, May 1-August 21, 2026 (16 weeks). The successful applicant will be dedicated to teamwork with the Camp Director and other staff and to the health and safety of all persons (staff, volunteers, campers) while camp is in session. When not involved in matters of health, safety, or the delivery of First Aid, the First Aid Attendant assumes the duties of a Camp Counsellor. Time is a standard 40-hour week. MacKenzie Camp is an outdoor ministry of the United Church of Canada.

    May 1-June 25- Rental and School Program: outdoor education activities requested by a nonprofit organization (7 weeks, approx. 25 overnight campers) and elementary schools (1 week, approx. 45 day campers), accompanied by their directors, teachers, and adult volunteers.

    June 26-August 21- Summer Camp Program: a range of whole group (35-45 campers) and small group (7-10 campers) activities, including swimming, wide games, faith formation, archery, bouldering, crafts, orienteering, for nine overnight camps for children and youth aged 7-17.     Qualifications

    • Current Advanced First Aid and Transportation Endorsement Certificate.
    • Ability to be calm in crisis, delegate and command respect.
    • Comfortable working in a semi-remote location for the duration of the summer.
    • Previous exercise of FA skills in a summer camp environment is an asset.
    • United Church connection an asset.
    • Must consent to a Criminal Records Check.
