Camp Jubilee is located in North Vancouver. We are a boat access camp that transport’s guests and staff to/from Cates Park. Camp Jubilee operates from March 1- October 30 annually and caters to school, youth, family and adult groups. We have 128 acres of waterfront property with 180 guest beds and approx. 25 staff members.

This opportunity will last the full length of our season and will see any successful applicants transitioning roles during our Summer Camp season. After the spring outdoor school season our “General Instructors” transition into “Cabin Leaders” during our summer camp in July and August. In September we transition staff back to their original roles as “General Instructors” for the remainder of the program year.

Camp Jubilee staff in all positions are expected to be respectful and professional at all times. This includes treating colleagues and guests kindly, wearing a staff uniform, following Camp Jubilee policies, and helping to create a warm and positive community for others.

    Camp Jubilee – Activity Instructor

During the outdoor school seasons our “Activity Instructors” form the backbone of our staff team and are essential to ensuring that our guests have an amazing experience.

The main duty of the “Activity Instructor” is to setup and instruct our various activities in a safe, fun, and educational way for our guests. Activity Instructors are typically assigned a group of up to 15 campers and an adult and will guide that group through our various camp programs during their stay. Instructors are trained to lead all of our activities and in the cases where a staff member with a higher lever of certification is required (High Ropes, Kayaking etc..) will be trained to assist that staff member in leading the activity. Activity instructors should expect to occasionally rotate through a shift in the kitchen facilities to assist the food preparation team with basic duties (dishwashing, cleaning, etc…) in that area.

    Sampling of Responsibilities:

    - Setting up and performing safety checks at activity stations

    - Instructing activities in a safe, fun, and educational manner

    - Cleaning activity stations and equipment in accordance with our Covid-19 policies

    - Cleaning and resetting camp facilities during guest transition periods

    - Participating in manual labour work when needed. (Site preparation, moving food to the kitchen, garbage run, etc…)

    Camp Jubilee – Cabin Leader

The “Cabin Leader” is our quintessential camp counselling role during our summer camp program.

Cabin Leaders are assigned a cabin of up to nine campers and are the primary leader for these campers throughout their camp experience. Cabin leaders are responsible for ensuring that campers have a safe and exceptionally fun experience at Camp Jubilee. This includes ensuring campers are behaving appropriately in their group, following safety and hygiene policies, and participating in activities to the best of their abilities. Cabin Leaders have an incredible opportunity to be a positive and engaging role model in the lives of our campers and we hope that Cabin Leaders fully embrace that opportunity and create an amazing experience for their campers.

    Sampling of Responsibilities:

    - Ensuring that all campers are safe and supervised at all times

    - Leading campers through all of the activities in their weekly schedule

    - Being a positive role model for campers

    - Following camp policies to ensure that any problematic behaviours are being handled appropriately and by the correct team of staff.
