General
- Cultivate a safe environment for LITs to test different leadership styles and reflect on their experiences
- Provide feedback to LIT participants throughout the week
- Demonstrate positive & engaging leadership for campers aged 8-16, fellow staff members, & volunteers
- Work Transport Bus stops from metro Vancouver/ Squamish as needed
- Other duties as assigned (e.g. cleaning cabins and program areas)
Term
- Staff training -June 24th - 28th, 2023
- LIT weeks - July 9th -14th
- - July 23rd - 28th
- - July 30th - August 4th
- - August 20th - 25th
- Outside of LIT weeks, the LIT Instructor may choose to take on other roles on our team, such as Instructor
Required Certifications & Experience
- First Aid Certificate (at minimum, an 8-hour basic certificate that includes CPR)
- Additional certifications & licenses are considered to be assets, including Class 4 & 5 driver’s licenses, certifications in lifeguarding, advanced first aid, paddling, rock-climbing, and outdoor recreation & leadership
- Experience working with youth (in an outdoor setting with an environmental focus is an asset)
- Criminal reference check with a vulnerable secretors’ screening no later than six months prior to the start date
Additional Information:
- Compensation begins at $138/day, with an increase of up to $5/day, according to experience and certifications. Free room and board is also provided when programs are in session
