Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, you prepare camp to receive our guests, ensuring that Young Life’s standards of excellence in service and presentation exceed their needs and expectations.  You ensure Christ-like hospitality to the property’s guest groups by providing exceptional cleaning services, professional bed making and fulfillment of last minute tasks as required.  

The core workplaces will be Wolfe Creek Lodge (WCL), three dorm lodges, Pinnacle day lodge and The Rock theatre.  You undertake regular housekeeping responsibilities, such as cleaning rooms, corridors and stairways, restrooms, lounges, and other work areas so that health standards are met.  You sweep, scrub, wax and/or polish floors using brooms, mops and/or power scrubbing machines, demonstrating proper usage of both commercial and residential equipment, which includes chemicals.  You are responsible to collect dirty linens, including bed linens, kitchen and pool towels, sort and wash, fold and iron, and return each to their proper storage places.  You will move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses.  

RockRidge Canyon has different operating seasons, some of which require seasonal staff, temporary volunteers, and additional staff from other departments.  You will be required to work alongside a variety of people, and on occasion may be asked to ensure proper introduction and training to the relevant housekeeping tasks.  Occasionally, you may support the Housekeeping Supervisor with supply ordering, inventory management, and budget preparation.

As a Christian with a vibrant and growing faith, you will mentor volunteers and help them on their spiritual journey as they serve in the Housekeeping Department.
