    The Inclusion Coordinator is a critical leader that ensures all campers can experience the fun and excitement of the forest regardless of their ability. The Inclusion Coordinator will work closely and mentor the Inclusion staff who provide one-on-one, 24-hour care and support to campers ages 8 through to 16 with developmental or physical disabilities. 

    General 

    • Communicate with parents/guardians prior to the arrival of the camper to develop a plan to ensure the camper has a successful camp experience 
    • Support campers who require extra support but do not require one-to-one support, as needed 
    • Work directly with the Inclusion Staff and Program Manager to ensure each camper’s needs are met 
    • Assist Inclusion staff with finding and planning adaptations to camp activities as needed for campers 
    • Communicate campers’ individual needs to Inclusion Staff • Provide one-on-one care to campers as needed 
    • Demonstrate maturity, sensitivity and positive and engaging leadership for all campers, as well as for the staff 
    • Provide supervisory support, feedback, and mentoring to Inclusion Staff 
    • Work transport bus stops from Metro Vancouver/ Squamish as needed 
    • Other duties as assigned (e.g. cleaning cabins and program areas) 
    Term 
    • Staff training - June 24th to 28th, 2023. 
    • Summer Season - July 2nd through August 25th, 2023  

    Required Certifications & Experience

    • Experience working with people with disabilities 
    • A 35+hour advanced First Aid certificate (e.g. Occupational First Aid Level II), or a NL lifeguarding certificate 
    • Mental Health First Aid is an asset 
    • Other experience and certifications are considered assets (e.g. Class 4 or 5 Driver’s License, certifications in paddling, climbing and ropes, outdoor recreation and leadership, and education) 
    • Criminal reference check with a vulnerable sectors search no later than six months prior to the start date 
    Additional Information: 
    • Compensation begins at $138/day, with an increase of up to $5/day, according to experience and certifications. Free room and board is also included when programs are in session
